Skills need visible pathways: turn livery expertise into the next generation's opportunity

The livery supports education through schools, scholarships and apprenticeships. Visible pathways turn that into opportunity.

The livery has always connected craft, profession, standards and learning. The modern opportunity is to make those pathways visible to people who may never have met a livery company.

The education programmes

The Livery Committee's education pages list the Livery Companies Apprenticeship Scheme, Livery Schools Link, the Master Certificate Scheme, the Mansion House Scholarship Scheme and School Governor Training. The Livery Impact Report 2025 records £33.9m given to education in 2024, the largest area of livery support.

From expertise to access

Young people, career changers, founders and specialists should be able to discover which Companies relate to their interests, and what exists around education, mentoring, awards, apprenticeships and professional communities.

Alive! shortens that journey from "What is the livery?" to "Where can I take part?"

What a Company can do

Clerks can send updates to [email protected].
